A few friends of mine who are monetarists will be distressed to learn of this, for all of their monies, which they exalt, are primarily constructed upon numbers; and this pretty much lets us know how much trouble we're in!—our being dressed in the stuff—as ground-born birds, coated in feathers.

But I regularly let them know, for the good of their esteemed profession, that we have enough money to drift for centuries, if not for a minimum of 100 years, without anyone's lifting a finger. Hopefully this will diminish the current deluge of newscasts from 24/7 to a more reasonable 5 minutes a week—should anything or anyone be discovered new.
